Swale Software
About

About me

My name is Andrew. I run Swale Software from my home near Northallerton, North Yorkshire, and have been providing software and web development to businesses for the past 20 years. The work is bespoke software and websites for businesses that need more than off-the-shelf tools, along with ongoing support once everything's running.

I aim to make working with me as easy as possible. Whether you're technical or not, I'll talk in plain English and make sure you understand what's being proposed before any work begins.

Over those years I've built up a network of contacts I can call on for the things that sit alongside the software: logos and artwork, marketing, social media, and similar. If a project needs more than I can offer on my own, I can usually introduce you to someone who can help.

Pricing is fixed wherever possible. Basic brochure websites like this one come in at a fixed cost. More complex websites and bespoke software projects are scoped and quoted up front, so you know what it'll cost before I start.

How I work

  • Direct contact. Email and phone are answered by the person doing the work.
  • Focused scope. I recommend the smallest solution that solves the problem, and push back on features that don't earn their keep.
  • Clear pricing. Fixed-scope quotes wherever possible. Any scope changes are agreed in writing before the work happens.
  • Long-term support. Most software I build is used for years. I stay involved beyond launch for maintenance, updates, and future changes.

Where I work

I work with businesses across Swaledale, Wensleydale, Teesdale, the Yorkshire Dales, and the wider North Yorkshire area. I also work with clients further afield by phone and video.
